Election Promised Delivered! Councillor Alex Hegenbarth secures funding to resurface Church Road and Cheltenham Road

Alex Hegenbarth, County Councillor for the Bishop’s Cleeve division, has delivered on his election promise to get Church Road resurfaced after years of under-investment and botched repairs.

Alex has been working with the Highways team to secure the funding needed.

Alex said “Church Road has been a bane for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians for years, and the recent spate of poorly done repairs only highlights the need for a new surface for the road.”

The road resurfacing will cover Church Road (from the memorial to the Tesco roundabout) and Cheltenham Road (from the roundabout to Station Road) - due to start early 2022.

Alex continued “Both Church Road and Cheltenham Road run into and through the heart of our community, so I am glad we can now give them - and our village - the attention they deserve.”
