Unfortunately fly-tipping is always a problem in our community, but many will have noticed that it has increased over the past few months. Whether this is due to unlicensed waste collectors or the lockdown restrictions previously in place at local household recycling centres, fly-tipping is a blight on our beautiful countryside.
Ben Evans, County Councillor for Churchdown, said "With Christmas around the corner and the additional waste it generates it's more important than ever that we remain vigilant and report any issues of fly-tipping we see and come across."
If you opt to use a waste collection company to get rid of your rubbish, you should check that they hold a valid Waste Carrier Licence as if your waste is subsequently fly-tipped both you and the company can be fined.
You can help by reporting fly-tipping either via www.tewkesbury.gov.uk or by using the FixMyStreet mobile phone app.
