Petition: B4077 Road Safety Priority Review (Teddington Hands to Stanway)
B4077 Road Safety Priority Review (Teddington Hands to Stanway)
We, the undersigned residents and road users, call on Gloucestershire County Council, as the local Highways Authority, to undertake an evidence-led road safety review of the B4077 corridor from Teddington Hands to Stanway, including the Black Sheds crossroads.
This route has a long record of collisions, near misses, and sustained community concern, with Black Sheds widely regarded by residents as a high-risk location. High traffic speeds and the absence of consistent traffic control contribute to residents feeling unsafe using and crossing this road.
We ask Gloucestershire County Council to:
- Include Black Sheds within its road safety hotspot assessment and priority ranking process
- Assess the B4077 as a single corridor, rather than isolated sites, in line with best practice
- Identify proportionate safety interventions and place them within the Highways delivery programme
- Provide transparency on timescales, funding routes, and decision-making
Location reference: B4077 from Teddington Hands (GL20) to Stanway (GL54), including Black Sheds crossroads.
Road safety should be proactive, evidence-based, and accountable. We urge Gloucestershire County Council to prioritise this corridor within its Cabinet and Scrutiny processes and to act before further incidents occur.
