Cameron Thomas joins Tewkesbury Lib Dems in congratulating another local by-elecion win
Cameron Thomas MP and Tewkesbury Liberal Democrats congratulate South Cotswolds Liberal Democrats on by-election victory in Cirencester.
Cameron said:
“Regardless of the national discourse, Liberal Democrats win because they work hard as genuine champions for their areas. Paul Evans has run an excellent campaign and will prove an outstanding voice for The Beeches Ward.
“This result comes less than two months since the Liberal Democrats elected Councillor Craig Thurling to Cotswold District Council, in The Rissingtons Ward.
“On the ground in Gloucestershire, the Conservative Party continues to pay for its decade of maladministration in government, and residents are not convinced that Reform’s “blame the migrants” narrative is the answer to their problems. As the Liberal Democrats prove time-and-again, the answers are unifying leadership, responsible policies and hard work.
“I am grateful to the residents of The Beeches Ward for defying populism and rallying once more behind the Liberal Democrats.
“Congratulations to Cllr Paul Evans and the hard-working teams around him, for this outstanding result.”
Cllr Sarah Hands, Chair of the Tewkesbury Liberal Democrats, added:
“This result is proof that Reform UK are not as powerful or popular as they think they are. We are delighted to be not only holding, but gaining ground in Gloucestershire. Huge congratulations to the teams involved in this win.”
