Cleeve councillors' pressure leads to tree stump clearing
For a long time, Gotherington Lane/Cleeve Road has been subjected to a heightened flood risk due to a tree stump preventing the culvert under the road from operating effectively.
Cllrs Richard Stanley and Alex Hegenbarth have been working hard to continue to pressure local developers and council teams to reduce the flood risk. They worked alongside local flood warden Jonathan Taylor. The road was shut to complete the works which should improve the flood resilience of the road. Further works along the road have been completed by Vistry and local land owners, and this closure will also result in further works being able to progress and be completed in due course.
Cllr Hegenbarth said:
“It’s been a long road, getting from there to here, but the removal of the stump means we can get on with getting the culvert and roadway repaired!”
