Following several concerns and complaints raised by local residents, and their own lived experiences, Cleeve councillors have been working to find a solution to the ongoing issues with network coverage and capacity within the village.

Due to the rapid growth in the area, the capacity of network available is not sufficient to serve the local community. Following ongoing discussions with the local MP, VirginMediaO2 and VodafoneThree have both responded to the concerns, and the Cleeve team are happy to announce upgrades planned for the area by 2028.

The team have asked for a more specific timeline and mapping of where these upgrades will take place and their expected impact on the community.

Cllr Hegenbarth said:

“For too long residents of Bishop's Cleeve have suffered from poor signal. We have had reports from a local care business that workers cannot communicate when discussing their work using mobiles due to the abysmal lack of working signal. We need upgrades, so are glad to hear this news from VodafoneThree. Nevertheless, the news from the network is vague and we are asking for a timeline and plans for the expected impact on our community.”
