Residents participate in walk in Tewkesbury

Tewkesbury Access Forum hosted a walk through Tewkesbury to highlight the difficulties faced by those with disabilities, mobility challenges, and sight loss. Local councillors, activists, organisations, and others joined the walk which used mobility scooters and SimuSpecs to show the lived experience of those facing these challenges day in day out.

Cllr Dr Kate Usmar is the Cabinet Member for Adults' Support and Independence, and joined the session. She said:

“This experience was extremely useful. It highlighted what it's like for those who face daily challenges. It is essential we recognise the issues faced by those with mobility impairments when accessing Tewkesbury town. We want to create an accessible community for all.”
