Tewkesbury Lib Dem councillors support Pride
To mark the end of Pride month, Lib Dem councillors last night showed their support by fashioning rainbow clothing and accessories. In the digital age, abuse is even more prevalent, with ‘keyboard warriors’ shamelessly attacking individuals online. The Lib Dem administration wanted to show their support to each and every individual in the Borough to remind everyone to be kind.
Council Leader, Richard Stanley, said:
“I have heard countless stories of people being bullied, threatened, and even attacked for being LGBT+. This is why visibility matters and why Pride month exists. As council leader, I want to show people that we are supporting them, and that it's ok to be yourself.”
Deputy Leader, Sarah Hands, added:
“It is so important to us as Lib Dems and as decent human beings, that we continue to champion and support every single person in our Borough.”
